Glimpses of Ganga

Itinerary

Arrive in Varanasi, India’s spiritual and photographic treasure. After check-in at your hotel, join your photography mentor or guide for an orientation on street and ritual photography techniques. As evening sets, head to Dashashwamedh Ghat to capture the breathtaking Ganga Aarti, a spectacle of light, devotion, and human emotion. Focus on long-exposure shots, silhouettes of priests, and reflections on the river. Conclude the day with night street photography at Godowlia Chowk, capturing the vibrant life of the city. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

Rise early for a sunrise photography cruise on the Ganga River — an iconic moment as the first light bathes the ghats in golden hues. Capture scenes of sadhus meditating, pilgrims bathing, and boats floating across the misty waters. After breakfast, continue with street and portrait photography in old Varanasi’s narrow alleys — perfect for candid shots of daily life, artisans, and vendors. In the afternoon, visit Manikarnika Ghat (from a respectful distance) to document the eternal cycle of life and death, followed by visits to silk weaving workshops to photograph traditional craftsmanship. Evening free for personal editing or optional night shoot. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

After breakfast, visit Ramnagar Fort on the opposite bank of the Ganges for architectural and landscape photography. The fort’s sandstone walls, vintage cars, and the river backdrop make for stunning frames. Later, head to Sarnath (optional) for serene shots of stupas and monastic ruins that contrast beautifully with the chaos of Varanasi. Conclude the tour with a photo review session before departure — sharing your best frames and receiving expert feedback.
