Kashi Culture & Arts Trail

Itinerary

Arrive in Varanasi, the living cradle of Indian art, music, and spirituality. Check in at your hotel and relax. In the evening, take a gentle walk along the ghats to experience the rhythm of life on the riverbanks. As dusk falls, witness the enchanting Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, a symphony of light and devotion performed by chanting priests. The evening air fills with music, incense, and the shimmering glow of oil lamps reflecting on the Ganges. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

After breakfast, visit Banaras Hindu University (BHU) — one of Asia’s oldest and most prestigious centers of learning. Explore the beautiful campus and the Bharat Kala Bhavan Museum, which houses rare collections of miniature paintings, sculptures, coins, and textiles reflecting India’s cultural evolution. In the afternoon, discover Banaras’ silk weaving tradition, visiting artisan workshops to see the intricate process of making world-renowned Banarasi sarees. Interact with weavers and understand the blend of skill, patience, and devotion behind each piece. Evening free for leisure or a serene boat ride on the Ganga. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

Start your day with a visit to Ravi Shankar’s ancestral home or a local music gurukul (subject to availability) to experience the Banaras Gharana of classical music and dance — the city’s living legacy of rhythm and ragas. Later, explore Tulsi Ghat and Kabir Math, associated with India’s greatest poets and saints. Evening cultural performance (Hindustani classical or Kathak dance) arranged for guests, depending on schedule and season. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

After breakfast, take part in a guided art and craft trail — visiting local painters, brassware artisans, and woodcraft makers of old Varanasi. Visit Godowlia Market for antique souvenirs and handlooms. After the cultural walk, transfer to airport or railway station for departure, carrying with you the timeless sound of the sitar, the color of Banarasi silk, and the spiritual essence of Kashi’s artistry.
