Sacred Frames of Kashi
Itinerary
Arrive in Varanasi, one of the world’s most photogenic and spiritually vibrant cities. After check-in, meet your photography mentor or guide for a short briefing on the trip theme — capturing devotion, heritage, and humanity.
In the evening, head to Dashashwamedh Ghat to photograph the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony — priests performing rituals with lamps, smoke, and synchronized movement. Focus on low-light photography and capturing the glow of diyas against the river backdrop.
Overnight stay in Varanasi.
Early morning, embark on a boat ride along the Ganges to photograph the city awakening in golden light — from monks and pilgrims performing rituals to colorful ghats reflecting on the calm waters.
After breakfast, explore Varanasi’s old lanes, capturing candid portraits of locals, flower sellers, sadhus, and artisans at work. Visit Godowlia Market and Vishwanath Gali for street photography rich in texture and color.
Evening free for self-editing or optional night photography at the ghats. Overnight stay in Varanasi.
After breakfast, take a short drive to Sarnath, the sacred Buddhist site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. Capture the peaceful ambiance of Dhamek Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihar, and surrounding monasteries.
Photograph monks in prayer, the play of natural light on ancient stone structures, and serene garden landscapes.
In the afternoon, visit artisan workshops nearby for glimpses of local pottery and craft traditions. Return to Varanasi for overnight stay.
After breakfast, spend the morning visiting a silk weaving community, documenting the artistry of handloom weavers and their generational craftsmanship. This is an excellent opportunity for close-up and storytelling photography.
Later, enjoy a final walk along the ghats before transferring to the airport or railway station for departure — carrying a collection of powerful images that embody the soul of Kashi.
